“Amy? Can you help me mop the floor? I need to cook dinner.” Amy’s mother, Mrs Foo, asked. “Of course! I’ll mop the floor so clean that you can see diamonds in it.” Amy answered. “Thank you, dear!” Mrs Foo replied. Amy prepared the water for mopping and took the mop.
Half way through, Amy saw something grayish.
She thought that was a hairball. She mopped it and noticed that it does not move from its spot. Amy looked at it more closely. It has legs. Tail. Eyes? “Ah!!!” Amy screamed. “Mum!! Please help me!”
Mrs Foo run to check on Amy. “Mummy! What is this?” Amy asked, pointing to it. “Its a lizard. I think it’s dead.” Mrs Foo answered. Mrs Foo took a tissue, carefully picked up the dead lizard up, and threw it in the dustbin.
“Thank you, Mummy. You are my hero!” Amy exclaimed, hugging Mrs Foo. “You’re welcome. Now, dear, please continue.” Mrs Foo replied modestly.
Amy learned to look more closely, and be aware of her surroundings.
